Sharat Kusuma, M.D., was named Chief Strategy Officer & Chief Medical Officer at Exactech in May 2022 and is a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopaedic hip and knee surgeon. He joined the company in December 2018. Prior to Exactech, Dr. Kusuma was a senior engagement manager for the global consulting firm, McKinsey & Company, where he led projects for multiple Fortune 500 medical device and pharmaceutical clients. Most recently, Kusuma was a senior member of Apple’s health team at their world headquarters in Cupertino, California, where he led health projects and collaboration with Zimmer Biomet and other companies. Prior to embarking on his career as a physician business leader, he was the clinical and research director for OhioHealth. In this capacity, he led the large total joint replacement services at Grant Medical Center, including the management of an active clinical practice of more than 400 surgeries a year.
