Additive manufacturing (AM) is a transformational technology changing how we design products and supply chains. AM allows us to identify new designs, eliminate manufacturing steps for certain types of implants (i.e., cementless total knees) and leverage new ways to approach old problems. This presentation will answer questions I’m repeatedly asked: Which AM platform technology — EMB or laser — is right for my product? Which laser platform — EOS, 3D Systems, GE Additive or another — is best? Which has the most FDA clearances, and what regulatory considerations do I need to consider relative to the processes?
