Peter Verrillo, Founder and CEO, Enhatch
Our increasingly digital world coupled with the uptick in remote care due to COVID has led to the adoption of patient engagement and monitoring tools. Orthopedic companies are entering the market with their own wearable and mobile app technology to drive patient and care team engagement and collect clinical insight. While the technology is expected to promote patient compliance and orthopedic surgeon efficiencies, sophisticated orthopedic companies will likely leverage the data for internal strategy and surgeon influence.
This OMTEC session brought together different companies with patient engagement and monitoring tools. Each company provides a brief presentation on its technology and the market forces it addresses. Then the panel engages in a Q&A to discuss: What’s the tech within their tech (sensors, accelerometers, etc.)? What data are the technologies collecting today and why? How are the companies using the data? How will these technologies work within ecosystems of other technologies in the future?
