Cost-Effective Innovations in Thick-Wall Tubing

About Video

Medical device tubing manufacturers have optimized production of tubing with wall thicknesses from .005” up to .035”. But what about thicker-wall tubing for orthopedic devices? Until recently, the only solutions were gun-drilled or seamless stock. These options come with high material costs, tight capacity, long lead times, and an unpredictable supply chain and delivery dates.

Now, Accu-Tube has developed an innovative thick-wall tubing option based on welded-and-drawn tubing. The material is 17-7 stainless steel, which provides the strength of current alloys with a much lower fabrication cost. This new tubing can replace gun-drilled or seamless stock for some applications, offering you lower cost, scalable capacity, faster delivery and a more reliable supply chain and delivery dates. In this webinar, we’ll discuss tubing requirements for orthopedic applications, the story behind the development of this new cost-effective tubing, and whether it’s right for your application.
