This presentation features Polycarbonate Urethanes (PCUs)—a breakthrough bioabsorbable polymer resin developed from novel polycarbonate urethane chemistry. Attendees will gain a brief historical perspective on bioabsorbable polymers before exploring the journey from concept to commercialization of this novel material. Through preclinical studies and bench-top biomechanical testing data, we will compare PCUs’ superior properties—enhanced biocompatibility, predictable degradation, inherent osteoconductivity and customizable mechanical performance—against conventional biodegradable materials like PLLA and PGA. Additionally, we will highlight PCUs’ exceptional manufacturing versatility, with its ability to be 3D-printed into complex geometries or formed into membranes and microspheres. We will discuss key technical parameters for high-resolution 3D printing with polycarbonate urethane resins and explore compatible printing technologies. Presented by 4D Medicine Ltd., Booth 558
