Robotics, Navigation and the Tech Behind Orthopedics’ Growing Digital Ecosystems

Wednesday, June 14, 2023 @ 3:15 pm - 4:00 pm

robotics and navigation in orthopedics

Orthopedic companies are developing ecosystems with enabling technology and digital tools used for pre-, intra- and post-operative patient care. Surgical planning, navigation and robotics aim to bring proficiency and preciseness to orthopedic procedures, while wearables and apps focus on patient monitoring and education. The technologies are feeding data that could have an immense impact on patient care. This panel discussion includes orthopedic companies with varying types of enabling and digital technologies. The group will explore questions such as: What are the uses and benefits of the technology today? How will the technology advance over time? How will data be captured and utilized to improve technology, surgical techniques and patient outcomes? What will it take to gain greater adoption in orthopedics? What role do ethics play in technology’s future?

Learning Objectives
● Understanding of technology’s current capabilities and future enhancements
● Gain insight into data collection and how it will be used to improve decision making
● Learn which market forces and system innovations will lead to greater technology adoption inside and outside the O.R.
