Jason Sandstrom is Vice President of Research & Development at Exalta in Marquette and an engineering leader with extensive experience developing and industrializing orthopedic and medical device systems.

Jason specializes in translating clinical needs into manufacturable, scalable product solutions, guiding programs from early design through verification, validation, and commercialization. He brings deep expertise in product development, design for manufacturability, and cross-functional program leadership, working closely with quality, regulatory, and operations teams to bring complex medical technologies to market efficiently and reliably.

He is particularly experienced in leading R&D teams focused on practical innovation — developing solutions that are not only clinically effective but also optimized for manufacturing, cost, and supply chain performance. With a strong background in orthopedic systems and instrument development, Jason has played a key role in advancing development programs that support both OEM partners and internal product platforms.

As Vice President of R&D, Jason leads engineering and product development initiatives, ensuring programs are executed with technical rigor, speed, and alignment with customer and regulatory requirements, while supporting the company’s broader innovation and growth strategy.
